Wheelchair Warrior "Hearing God's Voice" November 2010

Prayer Partners Around the World

The other day I was talking with a Christian friend and we got on the topic about God talking to people, and it really amazes me that lots of people do not think or believe that God still talks to His people. So why don't people hear God when He speaks to them?  The apostle Paul tells us various things as to why we don't hear or understand things spiritually. One of the answers is found in 1Corinthians 2:14 it says "But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." This means we need to pray for discernment for each other and for ourselves so we can begin to understand spiritual things.

In Romans 10:17 it says "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." This is referring to by listening to preaching, or reading the Bible as faith will begin to be stirred up in you, and it tunes your ears into being able to hear God's voice. Therefore, to be able to hear God talking to you, you MUST spend time reading the Bible, and studying it, and meditating on what the Scriptures tell us.

Another thing needed to be done is PRAYER in using the time for seeking the Lord and that is having a dedicated time of the day especially for prayer.  In these scriptures it shows Jesus spending time in prayer seeking God's will.

Mark 1:35 "And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God."

Luke 5:16 "And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed."

Luke 6:12 "And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God."

We have been expressing to you all along that God wants a relationship with us. Remeber that it is what you put into it, is what you get out of it.  If you do not spend time with God in prayer, or just being still and seeking His will, and reading the Bible, how are you going to know what God's will is for your life?

"GIVE FOR GOD!"

Did it ever occur to you that your blessings are meant for someone? All good things come from God above but don't forget that all things of this universe have one purpose and that is to give glory to the ALMIGHTY. Oftentimes God gives to us so we can give to others. There is unspeakable joy when God uses us to be the answer of someone’s needs! The Scriptures tell us it is better to give than to receive (ACTS 20:35). Each one of us has special gifts and talents (ROMANS 12:6) given to us from our Father meant for His glory yet some use it for selfish reasons. Think about how we can use our blessings from God (money, talents, experience, and time) to help those who truly need it. Isn't that what Christ did and isn't that who we represent? What better way to witness to others than to give ourselves what God gave to us first! http://www.ppatw.com/

Verse for the Week - 1 Corinthians 10:13

1 CORINTHIANS 10:13 (NIV)

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

WHAT IS GOD SAYING?
~~~
The same temptations experienced many years ago are not new to man. Just like our God, He is the same yesterday and today. His love never ceases. God does not tempt us nor does He allow temptations in our lives that we cannot endure. But when we are tempted, He will provide a way out for us. However, it is always our choice. Either you choose God's way out from temptations or you give in to them!
Think about this: How many times God removed temptations in our lives that we were not even aware of? And He did! This is because He knew that we could not handle them. Isn't God amazing!? He loves us so much that He spares us from temptations we cannot endure!
Weekly Sharing of God's Word - Ephesians 1
EPHESIANS 1
God tells us through Paul that it was He who chose us to be adopted into His Holy family. He reminds us of the redemption of Jesus’ blood and of the forgiveness of sins and His incredible grace. Paul also states that God's will shall be revealed unto us therefore knowing that our salvation was sealed by the promise of the Holy Spirit! Christ will give us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of the Almighty God so that our eyes will be enlightened, and understand the hope of His calling. Lastly, Paul testifies how Christ is the head of the church and how ALL is under His authority!
WHAT IS GOD SAYING TO US?
God loves us so much that first, He chose us then He adopted us then He redeemed and forgave us through Jesus’ blood. He gave us wisdom and understanding through the Holy Spirit to know our purpose. He even gave power and authority in the name above ALL NAMES, coupled with His grace and mercy. WOW, thank you Yahweh for giving us all that we need to be mighty vessels of honor for your glory!
